Round 4: Roosters V Mentone

Mentone wins 3-1

Another round; another defeat. Alb Park is threatening to become the Melbourne
Heart of the comp: still searching for a win.

Credit to Nosti and Vic for chalking up some points; good, fighting straight-sets win in hot conditions.

Thanks also to Yuri (who started his afternoon with an ace), forced to leap
off the bench, abandoning all thoughts of an afternoon as a spectator, after
Deano got lost/stuck/stymied in traffic.

Thanks also to Brian B and Nick H for support during first sets. Seldom has
the clubhouse veranda hosted such talent at one time.
But results dictate some soul-searching.

The Skipper is nervously awaiting the sort of call received by Dean Bailey,
Rodney Eade etc. He deserves better.

So. Time for some straight-talking.
Too much is being done by too few.
Too many pull-outs, date-switches, suiting of selves.
Every time there's a change, someone else gets dropped in it.
There's no 'I' in TEAM.

Onwards.

Thanks Alan for his words of wisdom above.
