8 point Demolition

Our brand new logo designed by the brilliant Nil:
Does anyone know what VM (the rooster's name) stands for? Here's a hint:

St. Vincents and Merton
Demolition Zone

Two demolition crews were in action on the corner of St Vincent's Place and Merton St this week. One levelled a house and the other Port Melbourne Pillow Biter's 2012 final's chances.
Well done Roosters!

Match Report:

The first positively balmy day of a miserable Melbourne winter. A time when meditteranians traditionally wake from their slumber and gorge on ritualistic self aggrandisement and bitching about team selection. Yes roosters hellenics have awoken so the finals are close.

Apart from a bit of sun glare serving at the southern end the conditions were perfect.

No wind. No excuses.

Brian and the Den of Iniquity -their first game : totally solid 10-2 -and a major set up for overall victory. Don't forget the Winter Comp is all about games won and a 10-2 victory is gold as it's very difficult to make these games up down the track. Their effort cannot be underestimated. This made everyone's job a lot easier. Well done Brian and the Iniquitous.

Meanwhile Yuri and Nick battled manfully against the father (john) and son (sean) combo to eventually be 9-9 with Yuri to either lose or win the rubber on his final serve with scores level 9 all. At 40 Shaun still lives at home. Tragic really.

A love service game in front of a partisan crowd and a Mr Whippy van was too good to be true. 2 rubbers to us and we're on our way.

The reverse was interesting as Yuri and Nick 6-0 up and in control suddenly had to fight out the set to win 10-8. Same with the Den of Iniquity and Brian who eventually took out a clean sweep 10-8 and get the max 8 point for the day. So all up 40 games to the home team and 27 games to the Pillow Biters. Percentage may play a part in the top 3 placings so we're in a good place this week.

Thanks to the prez and his side kick the Fisher King, Sue , Joyous the club historian, Jackie, Neal (who made his way into the photo -the knob), the pitiful polak retard who came late, Kevin 11, Al j. zero, Arnie etc...for coming.

MCC Maggots next week and that's who'll we will most probably play in the final if we make it. A win here really would be one for the true believers.

After that we MUST beat  Parkdale Pooves & the Glenhuntly Gals to make the top 3 and challenge for the premiership.

Come back Deano!!!!!
