Men's Penant Round 8 Results

Rd 8 was a bruising encounter for the team. We battled the wind, the cold and some strong opposition that saw us go down 4 rubbers to 0.

This is our worst loss of the season so far, so we can only get better again. Thanks to Kevin and Club President Peter for coming down to support the team.

As you can see from the ladder below, we are now holding onto 4th spot by 1 point, so every match (worth 2 points each with an extra 6 for winning overall) will be important for us.

OK – onto next week. Rd 9 sees us back to the singles format. We are playing at home again on Saturday 27th June at 1pm against Greensborough who are sitting in 6th position.

This was the team we just beat by 2 games back at the start of the season, so we can expect some competitive matches.

The team line-up is slightly different than our playing schedule and is as follows (& in singles order) – Nick, Nosti, Dennis and Victor. (Nick is filling in for Yuri & Dennis is filling in for Billy).

If anyone cannot play, please arrange a replacement and let me know asap.

FYI – Billy, who was due to start playing with the team, will now NOT be available at all due to Saturday afternoon work commitments.
