Match Report Saturday 23rd November

Albert Park Rooster v BlackCock

(oops, typo)

by Nils

Epic Tennis of the highest order played out at home on Saturday.
Forget about the scoreboard as the quality of each match showed talent, class and power tennis for the spectators lucky enough to be there.

They say people remember where they were when JKF was shot (fifty year anniversary) or for others not so old, ‘when man walked on the moon’ or when ‘Elvis died’.
Brian gets ready
Let me say that in 50years the same specators, the park walkers, the couple getting married, the bridal party, even the dogs sniffing each others arseholes will remeber the tennis played on Saturday in StVincents Gardens.

The power tennis on court one took the game to another level with Sean at his best and Neale molesting the net from side to side with controlled power volleys.
The BlackCocks (oops, typo) were simply out gunned by the Rooster Big Coq’s.
Sean started with a very dodgy back problem and yet took it upon himself to serve first.
“To start with, I only want to roll them in at half pace.”

Well after 2 aces and and couple of unplayable first serves. he set the tone for the match.
Whatever you can doo, i can do better.
So it was a match of big hitting, big serving and big coq’s showing off their massive attributes.
The specators were ‘Goggle-eyed”

Meanwhile on court 2.
Brian and Peter Jlasek teamed up together and the comment was made. I wonder how the soft coq’s are going over there?
They boys got off to a flyer winning the first 6-1.
But as tensions mounted and as the pressure grew it quickly turned into a torrid affair.
The boys marched off with pride but we did notice some cracks starting to appear and when they went into the second match and all was not well.
Communication between the two was lacking. The game was close, the pressure was on and some finger pointing was noticed.
Mind you some comments from Pat Casey didn’t help the situation

“What kind of Girls are you” and Lift ya Fu#!**ing game”...
Mind you...Patrick was just as fair to the opposition- he said to Andy of Blackcock (oops, typo). “ your a dogged Cu##!!T with that backhand of yours”
Trying to clam Pat down....
“Why do you have to ridicule eveyone” - John Collins
Not everyone..only 99.9% . - Pat Casey

Thank goodness for a rain delay because the comments and pressure was getting to everyone.
Sean and Neale finished their match early after another magnificent performance that brought the crowd to their feet on countless occassions. Brilliant match was commented.
Comming off the courts Pat Casey said “Neale, Have you seen your face.”
‘No, why?”
“It’s as Red as a busted arsehole”
“Well thats because I was doing all the running and Sean was just standing in the middle hitting winners.

We did over hear a comment from the opposition at change of ends which makes you laugh.
Oh the humanity (apologies to the burning blimp)
“Just hit it to the weaker player”
“yeah right....which one is that?”

We finished that match early and joined the throbbing crowd to watch the vital last set of the match in progress on centre court one.
The rain delay helped settle the building tensions between alll players and Peter Jlasek stomed off court and went walkabout downtown to get a double strength esspresso and to burn an effigy of Brian.
After a considerable time delay, Brian sent out a distress call to try to locate him
He was found and then it was back to business.

As the corporate boxes filled and the beers were following, so were the quality of comments from the gallery.
It got to the stage when one Rooster told the press box to shut up and show a bit of support.
It was Tuesday night all over.
The Soft Coq’s hardened up after 1-4 down in the final set and turned on some of the afternoons finest tennis.
The net play was fantastic.
Afternoon Tea...yum
Peter holding serve to make it 4 all then winning the next game 5-4 to lead the match for the first time.
Then 5-5 all after Andy served a good game of the BlackCocks (oops, typo).
A service Break and then Brian to serve for the match.

What a game what a match what a great day. the refreshments were excellent. Best cakes so far thanks Peter. (sorry MrsNick). Great bunch of guys. well done to everyone.

It has to be said that after a win like that. Attwoods capaincy is definitely under a cloud. He has never had a result like that and has never  be able to bond the team together in such trying circumstances..Yesterdays paper. STORMCLOUD OVER ATTWOOD....or was that just the weather report.

Nillls.
