Official: We're in the Finals

Stella Heathens V Roosters 18th August 2012

For the second time this year we got the call from Tony at Stella announcing a forfeit. Strange call because it would have been a washout. We'll take the 8 points any day and that puts us into an unassailable position to play the semi-final next Saturday. So we have made the finals in every season we've played since Nick formed the pennant team in 2009.

Next up we play Pooves or the Girls: the teams we had beaten in the last 2 weeks (even without Nick!)

The good news is that Dean is back from a severe bout of skirt chasing and joining Nick who is up for both finals. The other two spots are up for grabs and if anyone has any selection suggestions direct them to stickit@albertparkroosters.com

Hit Up Thursday 6.30. The team will be announced then so please declare your availability. 

In effect pizza @ Basilica (Trophy night) will be either next Thurday week or the Thusrday after (23rd or 30th August) Put it in your diary.

and finally...

We've given the Goldern Greeks a bit of stick over the season  but we really all do love them both. They're the heart and soul of the team. Who could forget Nosti's grunting bare chested antics or Dennis's anguished pep talks. Their fighting spirit has won them way too many Club Champs.

This is a song called "Kourayo" which is the Greek word for "courage" and is dedicated to Dennis and Nosti A personal tribue to all the great games they have played as Roosters . 

We're going to need plenty of courage to win our first flag but this year I reckon we can do it!
