Albert Park v Glenhuntly, 6 July 2013
A short and sweet match report via Gump Media.
As, really, there’s not much to say except:
THE ROOSTERS ARE BACK!
This was a big win. A valuable win at home against another team very much in contention for the finals. And we’d lost to them last time – in Round Two.
First Pair |
All you need to know:
Brian and Forrest: 10-7, 10-4
Mark and Paul: 10-5, 10-9
Thanks to all: Brian, solid as ever, especially on serve; Paul, rising to the occasion for a second weekend; Mark, for his serve and all-female fan-club who helped eat tea; Forrest, for resolutely ignoring Neale’s sledging from the sidelines.
Thanks for coming, Neale – and also the Albert Park club regulars. Much appreciated.
Weather was better than the forecast suggested; good afternoon all around.
Nice touch at the end. A solitary homeless chap wandered in from the park, hoping for some scraps from the afternoon-tea table. Introduced himself as ‘Dennis’. And he DID look vaguely familiar… But if we was a Real Rooster he surely wouldn’t have turned up 30 mins AFTER the last balls were hit. Anyway, we treated him kindly and appreciated the visit.
On we go: NEXT Saturday. Away v Hurlingham Park . Another strong side.
Team, at present: NEALE, YURI, BRIAN and… ?? Stay Tuned!!
