Windy afternoon, conditions were tough and the trip was long

Taxi Driver: Deano & Deb, providing the lift for Frankie & Andre
Backseat Driver & Rally Navigator: Andre
Driving to the tennis and travelling along beach road, we reached Brighton and Andre advisers the driver to “Change lanes, somebody is turning up in front” and we all pissed ourselves laughing......yes you always get a back seat driver. From that moment onwards, Deano was enjoying the drive and the hot topic of the day was what would you do if we won $20m in the lottery – would that change you!
Finally, when we arrived at the courts and we pulled our heads out from the $20m iclouds, it was evident that the wind will play havoc.
And there was a miracle on the day.....Brian rocked up only 10 mins late!
Team meeting on the court before the match, we agreed on the team/doubles mix and off we went.
Frankie & Solo Man (Highlights)
First Set:
0-4 down getting smashed
6-4 we won that set – great effort
Second set:
0-5 down
Got to 6-5 but failed to break.....went to a tie breaker
Lost the tie breaker 7-3.
Black Rock win 7-6
St Niklaus & Andre kicking back under the shade of the clubhouse – they won their match 6-3, 6-2
Third Set:
We tried our best but we lost that set 6-2
Overall, we were 4 games in front at the change of ends
Change of Ends
Hungry to redeem ourselves, Frankie & Solo Man took to the courts with purpose and intent. We came out firing...........
Guns blazing, we took the match in straight sets. With a massive bind blowing down the court, Frankie simply was “lolly popping” the ball purely to get it in and Solo man was hitting through the serve (since he was serving against the wind)
Brian played remarkably well in the second match, staying consistent with his play and offering excellent support. Fantastic effort.
St Niklaus and Andre battled on and ended up closing their match in straight also. A great win considering the tough conditions.
WE ARE IN THE ELIMINATION FINAL AGAINST MORNINGTON in 2 WEEKS!
Well done boys for a fantastic effort in very windy and difficult conditions.

· Black Rocks sliced backhand which landed on our side of the court which then bounced over to their side of the court before Frankie could get a racket onto it – courtesy of the wind
· The Glamorous Zo & Deb gracing the courts with their presence
· Alan’s Ball Boy support and nemesis presence during Frankie’s & Soloman’s match (hence the reason we went down 0-4 in our first set). But we forgave that when he fetched the ball for us.
· To Deano, Yuri, Jackie, Alan, Zo, Deb & Hinnenberg family for making the effort to come down to our match.
