Rnd 11, Glenhuntly away, July 23 Match Report:

This week’s report comes from Yuri, as a practice for his responsibilities as 2011 Summer Captain:

Our esteemed judge & critic Alan didn’t attend the Afternoon Tea so there is no official report (although the concensus from the Team was “2 thumbs down and a rip-roaring fart” to quote one of them….). However, to paint the mood & ambience of the festivities, here are some pix within the clubhouse:

Next Snatch:

This Saturday is the big match; we need to beat Pt Melbourne convincingly to secure our place in the semis. After this match, both teams will alternatively play the top 2 sides, Parkdale & Mordi; our advantage is that both matches are at home, while 1 is away for Pt Melb.

Unfortunately it’s an away game, but we’ve got most of our masterclass Team all pepped up and ready to do harm: the urbane Alan (well rested after his extravagant & self-indulgent 2 week break), dynamo Deano (desperate to repair his tattered reputation after being part of the arsehole pair that dropped a set to Glenhuntly this week), hotshot Nick (hopefully continuing his winning streak), all carrying the Captain who wants to be part of the glory.

Let’s hope it doesn’t rain so we can play as Pt Melb are probably (depending on their games against Hampton last Sat, but we assume they won 8-0) 4 points ahead.
