Hurled Over The Abyss

Albert Park v Hurlingham, at H’ham; 13 July 2013

Well – as Napoleon said after Waterloo – you can’t win ‘em all.
The Roosters certainly discovered this last Saturday.
We also discovered there’s a reason why the Hurls are on top of the Bayside ladder.
They’re not quite this season’s MCC – and beatable, as we proved early in the season – but certainly a force at home.

Selection Committee Chairman digests results
Roosters Yuri, Neale, Brian and Forrest fought valiantly but were thumped.
Best result was a 7-10 to B and F in the reverse matches.
So you’ll have to guess the rest.
In the spirit of POSITIVE THINKING we put this setback behind us and move on.

We have four more rounds left before finals (if we get there, which we should), and one of those rounds (3 Aug) is a bye due to the Hurls putting all their guns in one holster.
So every match, every set, every game counts big time from here on. All top positions are likely to be decided by a few points here and there.

Next up:

Beaumauris at the nursing home next Saturday, 20 July.

Already the roster has been thrown into disarray by a Medical Bulletin from the Greek Consulate:
Nosti OUT for at least six weeks due to a lower back stress fracture, thought to have been caused by carrying too much chicken for the souvlakis back in June.

So - team at present for next Saturday: Mark; Forrest; Brian (you OK, BB?)… and ???

Volunteer wanted, urgently!

Neale was rostered on to play, but has been soldiering on with various ailments and deserves a rest.

On we go. (As Napoleon also said as he headed off to exile…)
